Ruth Says:
Barbara never complained.  Before she died she said “Well, I got to taste some of all of life.  I got to grow up, get married and have a baby.”  Ruth took care of Curtis for seven or eight months after Barbara died - then Ruth got pregnant with her twins, and Norman took Curtis to Seattle and hired a housekeeper.  Curtis is married to Cindi and they have a son, Alex, (named after his grandfather) born in 1986. Curtis and Cindi both have Master’s Degrees, live in Spokane, Washington, where he works for New England Life Insurance.
Norman Thornburg married Esther.  The last time Ruth heard from them they were in Mt. Home, Idaho.  Esther’s father was a minister.

Lynne Remembers:
We lived in Tacoma when Barbara died.  I went  with Mother to Madigan Army Hospital to visit when Barbara was hospitalized.  Grandma Gardiner sat quietly by Barbara’s bed.  Seems to me that  Barbara and Curtis were staying with Ruth and her family in Fife.  Norman was in the Navy.  Mother brought some of Barbara’s clothes home for me after she died - I particularly remember pairs of  “pedal pushers” and sleeveless blouses.

Diane Remembers:
I was young and don’t have too many memories but I do remember Norman and a big, slobbery boxer dog named “Toby”.  I barely remember Curtis (baby?)

Gail Remembers:
I remember how cute she was.  She was always laughing.  At her house she babysat me some and I can still see the bedroom door with so many clothes on the knob I wondered why they didn’t fall off.

Barb Remembers:
She died 364 days before my birth, but I got her name!!  Thanks!

Del Remembers:
Barbara was the first Gardiner daughter I met.  In 1947 Bud Cody was living with his Mother near the market owned by my father - she would come in for groceries and chat prior to her marriage.

Lois Remembers:
Mischievous, charmer, long-suffering and one-of-a-kind.  I can hardly wait to see her again.
